R-134a Gas Spotlight

Our customers have told us they need a domestic source for R-134a (also known as 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and CH2FCF3), and we have responded. We want to be your go-to domestic source for R134a. We offer a variety of cylinder sizes, from disposable to HTON, and packaging options.

An Interview with Dr. Robert Syvret

Chief Scientist, Dr. Bob Syvret, is working to synthesize leading edge, highly specialized etchants and deposition materials and to develop purification processes that will then be sent to the new product development area at EFC’s Hatfield location for manufacture on a commercial scale.

R-134a is a substitute for chlorofluorocarbon (CFC-12) products in refrigeration and is also used in magnesium production as an SF6 replacement. Read more about this relatively nontoxic product this spotlight.

2018: Year End Review

Happy 2019! We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday season. We want to take a moment to reflect on the past year as well as share what we have in store for this coming year!

Tariffs & the Specialty Gas Industry

Tariffs are a fee placed on imports to increase their price. All countries use tariffs to one extent or another. Importers and exporters of specialty gases are constantly shifting as new production facilities, new tariffs, and new demands emerge globally. The hope is that new sources for specialty gases will constantly arise to fill the gap when old sources aren’t available.

Semiconductors: Fabrication & high purity gases

We have historically provided to our customers our legacy products with the highest level of purity and quality coupled with state-of-the-art analytical characterization.  As the technology nodes of semiconductor manufacturing continue to evolve, Electronic Fluorocarbons is investing now to establish advanced technologies for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of the electronic gases required today and in the future.
